Additional Navy Charachter Generation

Navy charachter generation published in Twilight 2000© is adequate for a playable charachter. And the additional detail that Mitch has done is good also, though incomplete. For T2K charachters with tactical skills are usually prefered for obvious reasons. This listing will help fill that need. The combination of these two additional resources should not allow a skill level above three.

Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) / Visit, Board and Search (VBS) Team: The LEDET is made up of Coast Guard personel assigned to a Cruiser or smaller vessel. They are augmented by members of ships company whom assist with boardings, searches and seizures if required. In some cases perhaps as a make shift prize crew.

During any term, inculding the first, a member can volunteer for VBS roll 6+ for the opportunity (for First Class and CPO charachters roll 5+ to be permitted, No officers above O-2 are permitted) and receive these additional skills;

Small Arms - 2
Grenade Launcher - 0
Unarmed Martial Arts - 1
Armed Martial Arts - 1
Med (trauma) - 1
Observation - 0
Climbing - 0
Thrown Wep - 0

Susequent terms: Take 1 additional skill level from the above list.

Promotion: Roll 6+ to gain a +1 on the promotional roll.

Contacts: Roll 6+ to gain an additional Coast Guard contact.

Ships Security Force Training / Ships Landing Party: During different periods of the 80's ships company had much more emphasis placed on them because of the need to perhaps carry nuclear weapons. Ships by direction had an "ASROC" guard force to protect the rocket thrown nuclear depth charges (wether or not they were actually carried).
During the early 80's it was toyed with that ships company could provide a Security Team ashore. These units were trained in weapons, hand too hand, basic tactics and crowd control. There isn't any reason too believe that in the world of T2K this won't happen again.
